Thanks for all the fun & good wishes folks. We solved the ills of a generation, voted maybe on the lisbon treaty and had an absolute ball doing it. It as all very middle class!

Just shy of a year ago we sat late one night in the inspirational eatery that is Eddie Rockets on Baggott Street in Dublin and concluded that a change was comin’. There was too much talk of recession & house values and not enough breathing, surely the city would run out of oxygen soon. Well it did. What a surprise.
It may have taken a while, sometimes these things do, but we have a plane chartered and a valet hired and we have all the vaccinations that a soft westerner like me can handle.
On October 1st myself & Elaine ( better half, fairer sex, long suffering squeeze and all round motivator) head on our biggest adventure to-date. There is no return ticket here.

Sure we’ve been to most of the euro destinations, got loved up in Paris, knocked on the head with an historical hammer in Rome, sipped cool beers on the beaches of Greece, even tried our hand with the unpronounceable syllables in Poland, but we’ve as yet to be culture shocked. (Sitting between 2 300 pound Americans is for the purposes of this blog not actually a shock, though it should be noted that its not all that comfortable).
So this time we are off to Asia, the sunny south east. Yeah yeah yeah, I know every Tomas, Proinsias & Tadhg worth their salt has already stopped off in the bars of Bangkok and PADI-ed in Ko Tao but we haven’t, and before the iceman cometh for another crap winter we’re off to make our fortune.
We have a long long list of places we want to see, hope to be at least tolerable to the people we end up seeing it with, and make the rivers of Ireland run green with envy for the hot sticky winter that is ahead of us. Except the Liffey of course, it could never look green.
Keep checking in on us, we’ll need it
Talk soon to you all.
